Late night eating

The ugly truth of late night eating :

In America ,it is very common for people to eat late at night compared to other countries. In Ecuador, my family’s last meal was at 6  pm or earlier. Then we had to do one more thing before we went to bed . We had to bring all the farm animals back into the stables to spend the night. By doing so , our bodies  had time to digest the food and plus we were still active until 7 or pm which also help in digestion and to burn more calories. The following is what happens to the calories and your body when you eat late at night .

When you eat late, most of the calories consumed get stored away as body fat and  for later used. Back in the prehistoric times when people went on for days without eating, people were able to tap into the stored body  fat to use for energy and to stay alive . Nowadays, that is not the case. We have an abundance of food everywhere we go.  We barely go a few hours without eating. We have a surplus of energy and whenever there is a surplus of energy, the body converts the excess energy into body fat . The end result is weight gain . What’s more , your body’s metabolism is slowing down as the night time  progresses. Movement also slows down during the night. Most people are sitting or laying on the couch or in bed watching tv,  snacking on all sorts of foods, Potatoes chips , ice cream , chocolate , cheese and so on and so forth . Research has shown that Minimal amounts of calories are used for keeping us alive and for the function of the vital organs of the body. All the excess energy goes for storage as body fat .
